Oscar Barthold Home
802 South Waco
The home was built by Oscar Barthold in 1892. At the time there were no houses south of it in the city limits of Weatherford. The home has remained in the possession of and been occupied by four generations of the Bartholds and their descendants. The architecture is Greek Revival with a Queen Ann roof. A mixture of architectural styles was not unusual at the time when the house was built. The interior gingerbread, French doors, pocket doors, woodwork and windows are original except for the den and kitchen. These two rooms and bathroom have been modernized for convenience but blend with the Victorian interior of the home.
