The Coker Home is a beautiful tribute to an era of building craftsmanship.  This red brick Victorian style with wrap around veranda was completed in 1902.  It was designed by Barber and Barber Architectural firm in Knoxville, Tennessee.  The structure was considered modern in its day because it had only one fireplace and a forced air gravity-flow coal burning furnace.  The woodwork throughout is heart-of-pine in original dark finish.  The front hall is highly decorative with elaborate gingerbread and two stained glass windows in the stairwell.
