Davis-Martin Home
314 West Oak Street
Originally built in 1918 for Will Davis, a Weatherford banker, the home was later purchased in 1924 by Preston Martin, father of famous Broadway star, Mary Martin. This was the childhood home of Broadway star Mary Martin and also her son, Larry Hagman, at a later date. The exterior of this home has Italian and American influences and is constructed of cast concrete with thirteen inch thick walls. Legend has it that Mary hid her diary in a planter box out of the second floor window of her bedroom.
