Woodhouse Rock Home

306 North Bowie

Located on a twelve and a half acre farm, this house was built in 1909.  At that time this location was in the country and this was “just a country house”.  Today it comprises one of the largest in-town farms left in the City of Weatherford.  The Woodhouse family purchased the farm about the time of W.W.I. and sold the property to the Dan Phelps family, who purchased the farm about 1940.  The rock siding on the exterior was added in a remodeling in the 1930’s.  A screened-in porch on the west side of the house has been enclosed.  There are two fireplaces in the home.  Double arches in the dining room lead into the kitchen and breakfast room.  Ceilings throughout the house are beaded board.
